1. I first titled this entry 'Thongs' by mistake. Whoops.

2. Tomorrow I start my new job. I am full of angst and woe and nerves.

3. I better be PMSing because I do not like feeling like this. Also, sinus infection? I am feeding you antibiotics like you demanded. Go. Away.

4.
I really, really, really enjoyed it. I didn't see it until late Saturday because I've resolved this season I will try not to download it because it's airing a day later here. ANYWAYS, I resolved not to read much of the flist until I'd seen it, so I saw it without any preconceived notions, and that was for the best.

I thought it was awesome.

I feel like I've seen a lot of posts where people mention they feel that this isn't the same show they signed up for, and I don't know. If anything, the year jump forward was like a jump back to the mini series in many ways. Everyone is for the most part more essentially themselves, in a way. It's like they've been distilled by circumstances. Yes, Lee is a whiny bitch, but remember Lee in the mini? He was, apart from the odd adorable moment with Laura or Kara, a whiny bitch who was pretty unlikeable. Adama is still a good man, and a good leader, but he's got his priorities mixed up. Tigh is still the bastard who pushes hard, except this time no one outranks him to tell him no or reign him in. Helo is still cute but dumb. I still don't trust Sharon as far as I can throw her. The circumstances have changed but the characters are more strongly themselves, I think.

And Kara! I just - I thought Katee was fantastic in the whole thing, because you could see every thought that was crossing Kara's mind, and at the same time she was so hollow and perfectly shell shocked. I was so impressed. I felt like I was holding my breath for every scene she had. Also? The crouton was adorable. Adorable. And! Grace Park! Hello! Welcome! I liked you a lot! Stick around!

Also, the ending, where they all got out of the trucks to stretch their legs? I feel like it's familiar, like I've seen it in another movie or read about it and I associate the whole thing with the Nazis, for some reason. Anyways, the effect of the whole thing made me ill, but boy did that whole scene start to redeem Tom Zarek in my eyes. He could become so interesting after this whole experience.

Long story short - I'm so excited to see where this goes. I love post-apocalyptic world building. They've got me hooked.

I need to go to bed.
