Can't sleep. Grande latte from Starbucks at 10:30 pm may be the reason.

Managed to do all my reading for tutorial tomorrow. This is a good thing because I have just now realised I have a midterm in this class and have missed the last two lectures due to illness and protesting.

Yes, protesting. I sent Wednesday afternoon downtown at a rally for reduced tuition fees. Made my own sign and every thing.:). I keep getting asked if I think protesting will make any difference. I guess the answer is no, but it's not about that, necessarily. Protests get me charged up, make me realise how many other people are affected by government cuts, makes me all the more firm in my belief that public education should be affordable because it allows us to become educated so that we can attend rallys like Wednesdays and express our dissent peacefully.

Tuition at my university has gone up 30% each of the last two years. They are now proposing to raise it another 35% for the coming school year. I know a shocking number of people who are leaving school after this year, their degree only half complete because they cannot afford to continue their education. It's not about asking tax payers to pay for my education or to shoulder my debt; it's about ensuring that eduaction is accessible to more than the rich.
