BSG Resistence.
Well, we know Kara's type: dark hair, strong jaw, Lee-like in alomst every way. Ahem.
I know some people are complaining or aren't enamoured of the fact that a pro-sports team are the defacto leaders of the resistance on Caprica. I think it makes a lot of sense - these people are in hella good shape and they're used to working as a unit. How much they actually lead - Anders said it was them and some survivalists and hikers who survived and were in their camp - is probably debateable. Not to paint survivalists with too broad a brush, but these are the people who go out inot the woods and live away from civilization on their own. I can't imagine they're good with people period, let alone good at trying to lead people. Who else is going to do it? If you were given the choice of, say, Wayne Gretzky ( a younger, more attractive Wayne Gretzky) or say, a Unibomber type, who would you pick as your leader of choice? Makes sense to me. I think.
Kara?
I can't get a fix on Kara right now. She's absolutely foreign to me. I can't tell if she's acting like she always acted around Helo, or if she's just really angry right now or what. Less quipping, less big emotional reveals, more Kara please. I don't know what I mean by that. I just can't figure her out.
Lee
Dude. The ladies were alllll over Lee. I do find it interesting that Lee seems to go out of his way not to touch Roslin. When she finally arrived at the raptor, she sort of moved it like she was going to hug him and he did this very subtle arm thing so that she backed off. And when they were transfering shuttles (OMG I LOVE ZAREK! WHOOT!) Lee took Elosha's hand and helped her down and kind of guided her along with a hand on her back but didn't touch Roslin at. all. Huh. I don't know what that means, but it's interesting and interesting that I noticed.
Lee just gets hotter and hotter every week. I don't know how Jamie Bamber does it.The snark and the rebllion and the covert planning and the joking and then the yelling with the pilots (Hot Dog misses him! That's adorable and hilarious and I want more Hot Dog!) and flying the raptor in the cute cammo outfit . . . Yay. And mmmm.
Pyramid. Again. Yes.
The pyramid thing? Huh. One thing I've always throught Galactica was good at was not reorting to, like, crazy space music or crazy space fashion or what not. The whole pyramid thing, while I think it was supposed to be hot and sexy and demonstrate chemistry, just feel flat for me because I was all "urgh. What are they doing? Why are they all crouched down like that? And why do they keep slamming the ball down on different parts of the ground (which, I realised, was because that seems to be how one scores points.)? And aren't his pants a little tight for this?"
I think it's funny that in sci-fi and fantasy, there's always multiple ways to score. With the exception of maybe football, all of our earth sports have one goal, on net. In pyramid there's lines on the floor and that skeet-ball thingy and Quiddich has a million different ways to score points. Huh. Sci-fi sports is overly complicated.
Also, I wonder if Katee and the Lee-look-alike made up the pyramid rules, or if there were weeks and weeks of meetings about it.
BILL!
I cheered when Adama walked into Tigh's room. I literally let out a little "Yaaaay! Adama!" and then gently scolded him when he asked for a drink. I am so happy he's back and so looking forward to the changes we're going to get to see in his character. He so claerly is going to need help but no one trusts Tigh anymore, and Lee's gone (and the scene when Lee went to say goodbye? Break my heart why doncha?) and Kara's off doing god knows who on Caprica. Poor, poor Bill.
Cally, the Chief et al
Oh! And poor Cally. Poor, poor Cally. She just wanted to be a dentist! *sob*
I love, love, love D. She could totally run the Galactica by herself. Everyone knows and loves her and she just gets shit done. *loves*. More D! Oh, and Lee saluting her? *dies* "No time for chit chat today, sir!" *loves!* I love the whole rebellion story line. I love the little glimpses of the peopl involved and how we've never seen most of them. Of course it had to involve more than the main characters, and it was nice they used 'random guy in a uniform' to escort Laura, and I liked that we'd never met the (female) marine with a gun before. Just another little reminder that there are a lot of people on the Galactica.
They seem to be doing their best to make us love the cheif and it's totally working. Now, I wonder why they're making us love him. omg he's totally a cylon!
Regarding next week (Jara, look away)
I really hope that Kara has a good time with Anders, and despite how much he looks like Lee, if it comes down to it, she says the right name and feels no guilt. I know this is a more complicated character than the old Starbuck, but BSG has done such a good job of ignoring gender conventions that I'd really like to see Kara just have a good time and not feel guilty about it. Of course it's been, what, a week since Lee called her a whore, so that's probably weighing on her mind. But. But. Could someone on sci-fi tv please just have sex and have it not be the be-all and end-all of their character? People have sex all the time in real life. I'm just sayin'.
Also? The moment Kara gets a nose bleed, I'm jumping ship. /x-files ref.

Er, on Kara and Helo? I think while she probably isn't always revealing to Helo, he is the one person that she does trust to be just herself with. I kinda like it.
And why do they keep slamming the ball down on different parts of the ground (which, I realised, was because that seems to be how one scores points.)?
Actually, I think the only way to score is in the nets and if you put the ball on the ground in the triangle they're not allowed to touch or stop you for a while.
