I went to Best Buy to get S1 of bsg and there were none and now they're sold out online! Alas!

So instead I rewatched the mini.



The thing that has always, always struck me about the briefing scene the day of the decommisioning:

The CAG points out that Lee is there, sitting slouched in the fourth row. Camera angle switches so we're seeing from Lee's perspective and there's Helo and Sharon, craning their necks to see. And then Sharon gives a little half wave and Helo I think sort of raises his eyebrows in surprise and these people totally, totally know each other, damn it! That's recognition! I swear! Lee gives a little head nod back!

What I really want is fic about how they all know each other (and does that make it weird that they don't seem to know many people from the Pegasus?) but I'd be happy for some acknowledgment on the show it self. Lee apparently does know Helo.

Is Lee supposed to not know Helo? I got that Starbuck and Helo were much tighter, but I didn't realize he wasn't supposed to know him at all. Hmmm.

I've read a a few fics where Lee's all "who's this tall guy who looks like he has no teeth" and I keep thinking 'dude! No way! He totally knows him!' Mostly it stems from my desire to see the fic, but eh.

I think part of the problem is Ron Moore or someone had said that the official backstory is that Kara and Lee didn't meet until she'd met Zak, which sort of makes any sort of academy hijinks difficult, and I think it's hard to imagine where else this group could have met (the time line is squashy at best - two years since Kara and Lee have seen each other means Lee didn't meet Helo after Zak died, but then when did he meet him? And how old/when were they all commissioned? So. many. questions.)

(Lee/Helo might be my secret bsg otp. Sooooo pretty!)
