I'm sure everyone and their dog has seen this by now, but I've spent most of the morning reading this:

The Ms. Scribe Story

I'm just - holy cow. Wow.

More, please. I mean, I'd heard Potterfandom was a little, er, intense, but shit.

ETA: Annnnnnnnnnnd the next chapter is up. Wheeeeeeeeeee!

The scary thing is that I was in the fandom for all of that, and remember it clearly . . . It's a psycho-insane fandom, although it seems to have calmed down somewhat with the exit of the BNFs who delighted in stirring up controversy (who knows? Maybe they've grown up . . . )

I vagurly, vaguely remember some of it from fandom wank, and I definately remember fandom_scruples, but most of this is new to me. It must have been insane in the middle of it.

I love the books, but the fandom is such a scary, scary place. I am mostly HP free these days, with the occasional relapse, maybe once or twice a year, when I stick mainly to epic Harry/Snape fics. I never ever get involved in the fandom anymore, because really, scary place. SCARY.
Though, fandom-wise, if you are a BNF in HP, you've done it all. I heard they even buy their BNFs ipods. ;-)

I read the odd fic when someone on my flist points me in that direction, and I think the books are great, but yeah. I will stay far away from the fandom, I think.

Is it wrong that I love love love coming home to find this? I have a feeling I will be up way too late reading all of this.

I LOVE IT.

It's increduble, that one person created so much wank. The next chapter just went live and I am full of glee that I get a little more before bed.

Hey, friending you after realizing we share a lot in common. Including a love of BSG actors in story form as well as an interest in HP fandom history (I was around for all of this stuff but never knew a 10th of what went down).

It's funny, you're one of those people who I see everywhere, as in all over my flist and fandon, but I've always been a little bit too intimidated to friend. So, happy to have you on the flist! I've friended you back.

Am sad to have seemed intimidating! Am happy to have more LJ friends! Yay! Go us!

That MsScribe thing is some shit, huh? See, this is why I do not take an active part in the fandom anymore. That and the shipper wars. Want some fun reading? Go back to any of the boards (FAP, SQ, even some of the LJ comms) round about the time Half-Blood Prince came out. Man, those were some fun times.

Am friending you, because I see you all over the place in BSG fandom and you seem pretty cool. And you share the RPF love (Katie!). I'd love to read some of your fic.

I am basically terrified to stumble into fandom in any sort of overtly active manner. Just let me have my little corner of fandom with my lj and my flist and I will be happy.

Annnnnnnd what a nice segue! Thanks for friending me. I've been an admirer from afar for a while as far as your fic goes. I've added you to my filter for the Katee/Jamie stuff. I assume that won't be a problem. Yay!

Also, I seem pretty cool? Oh, how I have you fooled!
