My God, Jamie Bamber wrote a little essay on Lee Adama.



Scary how close to fannon is to this. Huh.

Also, it reads just like a university lit crit essay, which is adorable.

Also? "Life's love" re: Kara. Aw. AWWWWWW. Seriously. I'm more and more convinced he's a bigger shipper than the rest of us combined.

*SUCH* A SHIPPER. The biggest shipper who ever shipped, which is a nice change from all my other otps where the actors were all "so-and-so is not even attracted to him/her."

He seems to have really thought about the character,w hich is nice. And he sees all of the points of departure where Lee could have gone wrong (the bit about how he could have been a 'cad,' for example,) which is more inisght that a lot of people have, I think.

Well, I think it sounds like a university essay, and he does have a lot of book learning, I think. That's all my evidence, but I'm choosing to believe he wrote it himself, or at least dictated it. Yep.

Yes, thank you. I was about to reply with something similar. Easy to forget that he *did* graduate from Cambridge, since we're so used to actors being a bit more, uh, inarticulate. In fact, that makes it even more plausible to me -- he's a year older than I am, and I also studied literature back then. The slightly overblown prose and earnest vibe definitely sounds like something I'd write now, ten years post-university. :)

And is it oversharing to admit that this sort of thing TURNS ME ON liek whoa? I'm such a sucker. I've never been all that attached to Lee himself (I mostly love him in relation to Kara), but damn. I adore Jamie more and more every day.

See, that's why I think he wrote it himself, becuase I too have written essays that sound just like that. He even looses his thesis in the middle there. ;)

Also? The Cambridge thing? I think that's seriously hot. Brains *and* a pretty face. And er, other parts. Mmmm.

It's such a nice change to have an actor who is articulate and seems to have thought about his character. I could go on about certain actors in the Stargate 'verse, but I will not.

We JUST finished the fic -- like, twenty minutes ago. ;) We still need to do a lot of editing and all that other stuff, but with any luck, it'll be posted tomorrow. It's totally melodramatic and emo and such, but hey. I don't mind!

For me, I think the Jamie love is because he fits so many of those little things I adore in a guy -- smart, dorky, clever, and with a snarky sense of humor. Mmm, yeah. (Plus, I like Jamie's body better than Lee's. Go figure.)

I love how invested he is in Lee/Kara. It's like he won't care if the writers start trying to convey that Lee isn't in love with her. He's gonna play it that way and don't even try to stop him!

Now I have a mental image of Jamie crossing his arms and pouting whenever someone FORCED him to do a scene with Dualla or Shevon or Lite Brite. Maybe he'd also stamp his foot.

(Then Katee would tell him to get a grip and grow a pair and just DEAL with it already. And he'd only half-mockingly growl, "I don't want to deal with all this crap. Lee loves Kara. Why can't THEY deal with it?" And she'd smack him upside the head and go off to play a scene with Trucco, but as she walked past him she'd lean in and whisper, "You're totally right.")

Er, sorry, I got a bit carried away. DAMN YOU, INSPIRATIONAL!KATIE.

Speaking of RPF... why has nobody ever written the scene in my icon, just for the potential hilarity of it?

Or fall to the floor and flail with all his limbs! While screaming "I DON'T WANNA!!!!" Everyone would eventually just leave him alone to DEAL, and he would calm down and wipe the tears from his eyes. Then he'd eat a lollipop.

OMG I love him. There are no words. I want to do foolish and embarassing fangirl things, like be his hood ornament. :0)

I can totally picture him coming up with these things with Katee, but then she walks away and forgets about it, but he scribbles it down in a little moleskin notebook that he carries around with him and adds to from time to time. And then Katee catches him writing in it, and she snatches it from him and reads it aloud to the rest of the crew, while he dances around her in mortification and tries to get it back.

And then of course she holds it hostage and he has to come up with...ahem... ransom to redeem it from her. In private. With lots of shmoop. :0)
