I got tagged by proggirl a long time ago, and then by anr and so I figured I should do this meme.

Seven facts/habits/quirks about me

1. I once won a French speech competition by writing a speech about my super sekrit love for country music at my hip hop lovin' high shcool. In French. (I also think I speak better french than I do. My BFF is fluent and is always rolling her eyes at me.)

2. One of my greatest fears is being buried alive because it happened to Carly on Days of Our Lives when I was small and impressionable.

3. Until I was in my mid-teens, I couldn't sleep until I'd checked my closet for Eugene Tooms, the liver-eating mutant from that episode of the X-Files. I told my parents I was looking for rats because in my mind that was less weird.

4. If I had to live on one thing for the rest of my life, it would be fresh Nova Scotia strawberries. And mashed potatoes. And my mom's macaroni and cheese. That is more than one thing. We can smoosh them all together to fit the rule if need be.

5. My first fannish crush was Dean Cain from Superman: The New Adventures. My first real crush was James in grade two, and I remember imagining him rescuing me from the train tracks ala Dudley Do Right and Nell.

6.In high school I was captain of my school's Reach For the Top team, which is like Jeopardy played in teams of HS geeks. I was captain all three years and we made provincials. I am that big of a trivia nerd. You want me on your Trivial Pursuit team. Trust me on this.

7. I am really bad about returning phone messages. Prosaic but true.

This has been a shiteous past two weeks, due to a variety of reasons. The momma cat I am fosteirng has gone into heat. For those curious, my tiny apartment now has four eleven week old kittens and one female cat in heat. I am retreating to the safety of my bedroom more than I should.

Two weeks til Dragon*Con and one and half weeks til my vacation begins! You have no idea how excited I am not to see some of the tools I have to work with for two weeks.

It's just - when I don't force myselt to check my messages right away, they can sit there for weeks which drives friends and family nuts. Oy.

1. Srsly impressive.

2. I'm lolling at this only because while you were young and impressionable with Days of Our Lives, I am just weak with General Hospital.

3. I was horrified of little people. Oompa Loompas ruined Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for me. The Borrowers roamed my room at night as I was trying to fall asleep. They were unsettling times.

5. Dean Cain! And Lois & Clark! I am having so many wonderful memories right now of that show. Like oh! Remember when there was Clone Lois? And Real Lois lost her memory and therefore her love of Clark? And their Jimmy Olson! He was the best. Rather like their Lex Luthor. Not as hot as Michael Rosenbaum, but dubiously attractive nonetheless. My first crush was called James, too. Only he was less of a crush and more of an obsessive love. I probably still have notebooks filled with, "I love James Zooberg." somewhere. Seriously. Pages and pages full. It was like my own personal Great American Novel.

2. I watched GH in junior and senior high - the Ricky Martin years!

3. Man, we are all seriously scarred by fandom, I believe.

5.Clone Lois! OMG! As for James, we grew up together and in grade 11 he fell in love with my best friend who had moved to town the previous year which, awkward because somewhere deep down I thought we were meant to be. Alas. ALAS!

2. OMG, I remember that! I've never really watched soaps, but my sister does and I saw some of those buried alive episodes when she was watching them. *still scared*

2. I was at my grandparents' cottage for summer break and my nana was watching. I couldn't get away. And then Marlena turned into the devil! Days of Our Lives was fucked, yo.

4. POTATOES. They are the food of my people!

7. I AM. My friends are well aware. Apparently it's the one thing my two best friends would change about me if given a chance. I am improving ! I am!
