Am I the only one watching Castle? Because I kind of love it and I am not big into procedurals.

CAPTAIN TIGHTPANTS OMG NATHAN FILLION CASTLE WAS MAL FOR HALLOWEEN. OMG. TV SHOWS COLLIDING. COLLIDING.

I firmly believe that was Nathan's own outfit.

Somewhere, a browncoat just lost her everloving mind. (Side note: The Browncoats were literally the craziest fans I met at Dragon*Con, and that, my friends, is saying something)

I love Alexis. Witness this conversation between her and her dad (Castle):

"What are you supposed to be?"

"Space cowboy."

"Okay, A, there are no cows in space. B, didn't you wear that five years ago?" (OH SNAP.)

"So?"

"So, don't you think you should move on?"

"I like it."

I am still giggling over this. It's a shame most of the audience doesn't get it.

If you're not watching Castle, I highly suggest you give it a try. I've never considered myself a Nathan Fillion fan girl, but he's pretty fantastic.

Also, I know I was the only one watching 'Defying Gravity' but I really liked it.

I liked Zoe, even though I suspect I should have seen her as a Mary Sue. I think they spent a lot of time establishing things, which may be why it never found an audience (or maybe Grey's Anatomy in Spaaaaaaaaaaaace is a concept that only appealed to me.) I would have liked to have seen where things would have went. I read somewhere that the creator had seven years of show mapped. I'd like to hear what he had to say.

In other news, I bought two new bras this week that fit perfectly. Is there anything better than a great fitting bra? No.

Am trying to porn!battle, but I keep rewritting. I just need to post, darn it!

[livejournal.com profile] kerrikins and I were watching DG, too! It's a shame, but while I liked the concept, I don't think they ever really hit their stride . . . a lot of the episodes seemed to drag, and they never quite sold the interpersonal relationships that made up the dramatic potential. A couple of the episodes were excellent, but the rest were lukewarm. I'd have really liked to see them get a whole season and really find their pacing.

I feel exactly the same! It was like the show itself was aware (like Beta? OMG!) they only had so many eps and didn't know what to do with them. Case in point: the first half of the finale was pretty good, I thought, but the second really dragged. I mean, we knew Zoe was going to get back to the lander, right? Oy. I wish they'd had the chance to figure things out.

You are not the only one watching Castle. I saw that episode intro and could have cried a little - oh, Mal! Castle! Nathan!

(And I agree; I bet that was his own outfit. :))

From: [identity profile] elly427.livejournal.com

I know, right? He totally had that in his closet and as soon as someone mentioned a hallowe'en ep, he was like "I HAVE MY, I MEAN CASTLE'S, COSTUME."

I adore him and the show a little.

It's a very iconable show - I've only made a few, I really should do more. I'm usually just too busy squeeing to screencap. :D

Nope, you're not the only one watching Castle. I adooooooooore it. This week's episode with the Firefly shoutouts had me dying, so good.

Also, I'm watching Defying Gravity, too! Well, ok, I'm only up to episode 7, but I fully intend on getting to the rest of them.

I really like Castle! Beyond the shout outs, I really like it, which is awesome for me.

Also, I personally think DF gets better further into the season - things start to pick up a little. Though we only get 13 eps, there is something of a resolution to the whole thing, so yes, watch on!

Yep yep, Castle is just awesome all around. I love how it doesn't take anything too too seriously, and there are always moments at the end of "serious" scenes where Castle or someone ends up doing/saying something offbeat and hilarious. It keeps the viewers on his or her toes and keeps things entertaining, which I love.

Yeah, DG definitely started getting a lot more interesting for me by I think eps 4 or 5 (so I can totally understand how the casual viewer would be turned off by the first couple of episodes... that's the trouble with shows these days. if it's not immediately interesting, ppl just give up and don't give it a chance, even though it may turn out to be brilliant later :P). Anyway, I'm glad by ep 13 there's some resolution. It would've been nice if the show had got a longer season or even a couple of seasons to work things out, but I guess it was not meant to be.

Pretty much everyone I know watches Castle! Myself included. Nathan Fillion tweeted about the Halloween costume a while ago so it wasn't a surprise, but it was super fun anyway.

It's like a super-stealth, non-fandomy show we all enjoy! I wil have to find Nathan's twitter!

The conversation between Rick and Alexis was brilliant. At least to those of us who got it. ;)

I was trying to determine if that was the original costume or not. The coat seemed a bit off to me, but the room was on the dark side and it's also been awhile since I've watched Firefly.

I adore the relationship between Rick and Alexis. It's maybe my favorite part of the show.

I wouldn't put it past Nathan if it were the real costume, but on the other hand, how awesome if the costumers made it?

I watch and though I think Nathan Fillion is charming and handsome and all that...I don't love the show. I still haven't warmed to Beckett who I think started out as your stereotypical overly cranky female cop playing against a devil-may-care sidekick. (See Robin Tunney on The Mentalist and a whole score of other folks I'm forgetting.)

I do like the relationship with his daughter the best and they've made Beckett a wee bit more well-rounded, but procedurals aren't really my thing.

I watched White Collar though last night and that was fantastic. Very sexy male lead art forger/con man and funny writing/script. I highly recommend to everyone who likes Leverage.

Oh and by the way...your fic Limits may have partially inspired a bit of pornbattle fic for me. ;)

I adore Castle and Alexis's relationship. I would watch a whole show about them without the crime solving.

I'm kind of ambivilent on Beckett. Don't hate her, don't care deeply for her. I do like her new hair, if I'm going to be shallow.

I need to search the Tivo for White Collar - lots of positive notes from the flist!

Also, hooray for inspiration! :D

Castle is awesome but 10pm on Monday is way too late for this space cowboy. I need to be in bed by 10:30 since eldest wakes up before 6:30 to get ready for school and I can't sleep through that.

I need to just set up the recorder and time-shift it to Tuesdays at 8 or something reasonable!

From: [identity profile] elly427.livejournal.com

Yeah, I totally watch it the next day on Tivo for the most part. I always start watching and then am like "seriously, you have to be up in 7 hours. Go to bed!" Thank goodness for DVRs!

Dude, not only was Castle Mal for Halloween, Esposito was Poke from Generation Kill! (where he plays a Marine during the invasion of Iraq). I have to say that really boosted my love for the show, which was flagging a tad. It's total fluff, but it's entertaining...

From: [identity profile] elly427.livejournal.com

I have not seen Generation Kill, but that does make it even more AWESOME. Oh tv. Never change!
