I watched the Canada vs US game on the big screens outside the Plaza of Nations and Molson Hockey House, and had a great time. The crowd was awesome - everyone in red or a flag or with a handmade sign.

These are the screns outside Molson Hockey Place. The cheapest tickets to get in are $100 and you have to buy your own beer. So I was outside.

(Let's not talk about the number of times my hands flew to my face, or the top of my head in disbelief we hadn't freaking scored. At one point I said out loud "I don't know if my nerves can take this." The random couple next to me agreed. Jesus.)

The consensus on the Skytrain ride home (the quietest, saddest skytrain ride I have ever taken - no one was really talking, and those of us who were were speaking in hushed tones like we were at some sort of funeral) was that Ryan Miller is some kind of incredible, freaky, hockey-playing robot. Props to him - he played an amazing game. It was 45-23 shots on goal, Canada -US, so to be fair he was phenomenal all things considered.

Also, he is a cylon.

Indi asked me if we should console you. Aww, poor Elly! *hugs*

Canada did kick our ass today in women's curling, but I suppose that doesn't make up for hockey....

(Hey, if I ask really nicely, could you pick me up some of the fabulous mittens? Not that I'd have much excuse to wear them in Atlanta, but they're still very neat. And all the excitement makes me wish I'd lived here in 1996, but I didn't move until 1999. :)

Oh, wisteria! You're both very kind. I am determined more than sad - we're down, not out! This just gives us one more game to watch and bond over as a nation! We'll still be in that gold medal game! Yes!

The city is crazy, so much fun! We were out at 11:30 on Saturday night and there were thousands of people around. Things are electric, it's so much fun!

Also. Watch your mail. *winks*

*hugs* I don't know anything about hockey (or most organized sports, let's be honest) but that was... unexpected. *smooches to Canada*

WE SHALL OVERCOME!

We just have to win four games in a row. WE CAN TOTALY DO IT. We can! And if we don't, they will burn my city down. So no pressure. (GAH!)

That makes me sad, because Vancouver is a really fucking awesome place to be right now! I love the Olympics! Woooooooo@

All the 99$ tickets are sold out. Well, all the tickets are sold out to Molson House. If you're willing to pay about 350$ you can get in to watch. It's insane.

And yea, Ryan Miller is craaaaazy. I'm going with Crosby on this one-it's not a bad thing to get another game to play together, get used to each other and improve.

And if you're going to pay $350, might as well pay the $500 and get the all you can eat/drink ticket, right? Hee!

I am firmly on Crosby's side. This can only make us stronger! Also, we get an extra game to watch, so there's always that!

(I am going to be unswervingly optimistic about our chances until we are actually out of the tournament. Nothing can bring me down!)

We will NOT be OUT of the tournament, unless you mean when we have won and we're outside having a partayyyy.

Have you gotten to do anything more fun this weekend did Irish House on Friday and zip line today. My weekend, it was a lot of lines.

We'll only be out post-gold medal game when WE HAVE OUR MEDALS, YES!

Ooooo, zip line! How long did you have to wait? We got into Live City Downtown and Canada House without too much trouble. The zip line line looked crazy, though.

I had to wait...7 hours.

I know. But I figured when are you ever going to have that chance again? To say you zip lined from Robson to Granville during the Olympics? We had some awesome line buddies and the whole things is well done. They have signs to tell you how much time is left from that point, and you can get a bathroom pass so you can leave the line and come back to your spot.

I mean, if I'd zip lined before, I wouldn't have done it and I wouldn't wait that long to do it again but I'm really glad I did do it. It was definitely an EXPERIENCE.

Ok, the bathroom pass is the greatest thing I have ever heard of. Good for them!

I am contemplating a line wait, because you are totally right. What a thrill to be able to say you did it! I also love line buddies, so maybe I will get in line this week!
