Dear flist,
If you are not busy cheering for Team USA in tomorow's men's hockey final, could you spare a thought and a hope for Team Canada? This is a nation-defining moment for us. We'd really like to win.
Also, I will be downtown watching and I really don't want a riot.
Your elly

There is so much pressure on the Canadian team, and basically, no real pressure on the US...we need to play like we did against the Russians.
GO Canada GO!

I'm not Canadian but I love the country and fell in love with hockey many a year ago (one of my favourite holiday memories is still getting to see the Leafs play live on a trip to Toronto a few years back, sure they lost but that's the Leafs for you *g*) Anyway from the lows of Nagano, to the high of Salt Lake back to the lows of Torino and now this. I thought they'd blown it when the US equalised (I've been threw heartache with that kind of thing in football back in EURO2000) but I'd love to know what was said in the dressing room coz boy did they come out like guys on a mission.
Guess it had to be the Kid with the winning goal, but glad Iginla was involved.
As the ad says (or it did back in the day) Hockey it's a Canadian game *g*
The rendition of the anthem after the women's final was amazing, but tonight made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck - amazing.
