Y'know, there's nothing like feedback to make me smile.

I've never really been a feedbacker. Before February of this year I think I've sent maybe three pieces of feedback to an online author in my life. Two of those got no response and for the other the author sent me a lovely thank you.

However, since starting to post in the SG-1 fandom and receiving so much useful, constructive and just plain nice feedback, when I've read a story I liked I've tried to send at least "hey, I read it, I liked it," to the author or make a comment on their lj.

My point? (and I do have one) is I sent a little "liked your story" email the other day for a sotry I read on SamandJack and I opened my email today and the author had taken the time to send a "thanks for reading" note that made me smile, made me feel good about taking two minutes to send feedback.

In retrospect, I don't know that I have a point. I just guess that I wanted to share that I feel good today because I sent feedback.

(And this is in no way a plea for feedback. Just wanted to say I like when people reply to feedback.)

It is indeed lovely when people reply to feedack, yes, and as a writer I think it's just the barest of common courtesy to at least send back a "thank you" when someone sends me feedback.

And what do you want to be that the people who demand feedback are the least likely to respond to it?

As a writer I'm usually so thrilled to pieces someone read whatever I wrote and took time to comment on it I can hardly help myself for responding. Screw courtesy, it's all about my ego :)

I think it's just polite to send something back when someone takes the time to let you know what they think. I always try to do it although I'm sure I might have forgotten once or twice.

It's always great to receive feedback so it's a matter of showing your appreciation for it.

Oh I think it's *so* important to thank your feedbackers. Yes. *nod*

Me too! It's what makes *me* send more feedback, and I'm out to get people to send me more feedback. :D
