Am home. Am ridiculously tired after spending all week packing and all weekend not sleeping so the best friend and I could talk until I left her alone in Vancouver for four months.

Nearly missed my flight in Vancouver because I got stuck in security because my palm pilot cord apparently looked like the wire for a bomb. I'll be packing that in the suitcase next time (funnily enough, the palm got nary a look. huh.)

Halifax is cold and wet and not where I want to be right now. Am on the family computer which, while being new and shiny and a dell, is still the family computer which means I'll be on it a lot less. It also means no messenger, no photoshop and no checking my email every two minutes. Grr.

Wish I had something more interesting to say. Had a fic idea on the plane but couldn't write it because of the asshole reading my book over my shoulder. No way was I writing with him watching. Was too tired to get it down last night, so here's hoping it's still there when I get a chance to write.

Need to go grocery shopping.

Heh -- probably a good idea, especially if it's a drrrty story!

It was actually . . . schmoopy. Fluffy, even. Ack. Aaacccccccck. No dirty at all. Weird, I know.

Ooooooooh. *holds out hands for fluff* I want! I want!!

I mean, there's something to be said for drrrtiness, of course, but sometimes they *can* be In Love without being all naked and tangled up. I mean, that's how it's been for a good long while now... and it'll be cuter once they can snuggle for real :)

For the second time today, I just had to reply to your comment :-) I love smut and fluff- they both have a time and a place (like when someone is not reading over your shoulder)!

smut and fluff are *so* not mutually exclusive concepts. fluffy smut may be my favouritest thing ever, fanfictionally speaking.

*happy sigh at the thought*

You are totally right, and I think you just came up with a new word: fanfictionally!

I think my calling in this life is to pervert the English language as far as it will go! :)

Ooh, y'know, I live in Halifax too! (well, my parents do...)

Other side of the pond though ;)

Aww, hon. :-( You'll be back in Vancouver in no time.

Thank you! It's kinda nice to be here. Maybe. I'm still deciding.

I like reading schmoophy happy them, I really, really do. Really do. They just never come out like that in my head. I think, 'oh, happy Sam, that can't be that hard!' but it *is*. Fluff is harder than angst anyday.

And yay, real snuggling.

Dude! That's so cool! A couple of my friends in high school went on a band trip to Halifax, England. I always wanted to go but apparently a ukulele isn;t an orchestra instrument. Huh.

But yes. That's cool.

Thank you! *is mesmerized by flashing birthday thingy*

Sooner rather than later, it's true. And I always end up being sad I have to go back. Transitory blues, I guess.

Oh, I sooooooooo disagree. I could write fluff constantly. Seriously. I think angst is a more 'respectable' genre, on the whole, but fluff? If we toss out any sort of coherent plot requirement, or that there be a *point,* I have about thirteen cutesy moments for S/J in my head and on my word processor at the drop of a hat. Any hat.

[livejournal.com profile] besyd is largely to blame for this, though. I used to be much more of an angst hussy before she had her squeeeful way with me and made me start thinking of *exactly* how insufferably adorable Sam and Jack will be once they get themselves together to be so. And I guess a lot of those 'moments' have components of angst... nightmares and half-baked relationship fears and whatnot... but their adorability wins out pretty quickly. I'm much quicker to torment my characters and gleeefully twist the knife when I have more energy! Hee! Oh, and the X-Files did it to me, too, because with that I learned that there *can* be such a thing as too much angst.

And hey, at least we're both pathetic wenches ;) With our powers combined...
