Literally woke my sister last night watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

They have a sketch where some guy who works for the show sits in a recliner and complains about things that really make him mad in this monotone voice which expresses no anger at all. It's amusing because this things are most often hugely geek-tastic; Star Trek, X-men, comics, etc. A couple weeks ago his rant was about how much better Stargate SG-1 is without Dr. Daniel Jackson (Yes. I'm not kidding).

So, last night after the monologue Conan starts talking about the Stargate segment and I'm in bed watching and figuring all the rabid Daniel fans wrote in to complain. But no! Seems like the people at Stargate saw the segement, thought it was hilarious and invited the guy up to Vancouver to do a guest spot on the show as Sgt. O'Brien.

The results were, y'know, hilarious. The guy, who's name I can't remember, is an actual fan of the show. At one point he was standing on the gate ramp, looks back at the camera with this expression of glee and says "Can I just say holy fucking shit?!" (except oit was beeped. But That was totally what he said.) He met AT and she was nice, looked pretty, good hair, dressed in her dress uniform. She leaves and the guy's like "I thought the highlight of my life was meeeting Halle Berry, but no, it was that." And then I died laughing. RDA hung around with the guy (no MacGyver jokes, strangely.) and and he was in BDUs (blue and green, at different points. SO much for Jack being stuck at a desk in season two. Or wearing the dress uniform, like Hammond.)

The Conan guy has one teeny line on the show, something along the lines of "We have audio contact sir. It's Colonel Carter," which he says to Jack who's in civvies (yay!).

Long, unnecessary story: if you can catch last night's Conan's in reruns, do it. Muchly amusing.
