So.

I'm not dead exactly. Dead tired, yes. I got a temp job working as an enumerator (or, as one elderly lady called me, an "electioneer") for the up coming federal election. Fun thing: they're paying me $13.50 an hour and I can set my own hours, so I'm pretty much working 12 hours a day knocking on doors. Wheee! However that pretty much means I come home and collapse into bed. So. No internet for me.

I'm behind on my flist so *hugs* to everyone. The insanity should end sometime this weekend. Hopefully. Heh.

They give you $13.50/hr. just to knock on doors? Wow.

So, you just knock on doors, walk away, and they pay you that much per hour? I want your job!

Oh! So you actually have to talk to people after they open their doors? Okay, gotcha now.

I have a speech and everything:

"Hi, we're with Elections Canada and we're revising the voter's list for the up coming federal election. We were wondering if you could give us the names of anyone living here who are 18 or older and are a Canadian citizen?"

*check list for name and either check name and go on our merry way or take down name, birthday, phone number, previous address and get them to sign paper and then head off on our merry way*

It's hard, hard work. :) And rumour has we might actually be making $15/hour, which would kick ass.

I sympathise with your "hard work", although I did door-to-door sales (different, I know, but I never liked knocking on the doors of people I didn't know) and hated it, but this doesn't sound too bad. And *crossing fingers* on the possible raise in pay.
