Wow. This could actually happen to me, I think.

From [livejournal.com profile] anr, who really freaked me out because for a second, I thought she'd actually died.

We regret to announce the disturbing demise of elly, who on the 3rd of October of this year was delicately cannibalized by some guy named Clyde. This unfortunate incident occurred in a sewer pipe in Seattle, WA. The deceased was reported to have shouted "I should have listened to my horoscope!" just before expiring. elly is survived by several houseplants. Funeral services will be held the 1st of next month.

From the Random Obituary Generator Of Doom.

As a side note, my horoscope for the past three weeks (no, I'm not exagerating) has been about money. Spending it, not buying things, making huge purchases, dude. It's driving me nuts since I'm broke as all get out.

Also? My letter to the editor got published in the paper today! Yay!

Right. LSATs. Right. Ooo, shiny!

That's awesome. Well done you!

I have a 70% stats final tomorrow and I can't study because I'm so bad at it. I don't actually want to know how little I know. *cry*

Last Sunday there was an article in the paper by a columnist about how some fairly undefined "we," most likely refering to 'older' voters, need to encourage the younger voters to vote in the upcoming Canadian federal election because voters between the ages of, 18-24 have the lowest turnout of any age group. He basically was like "blah blah why don't they understand the sacrifices made for democracy blah blah to get the kids to vote we should have polling stations in video arcades (I wish I were making that up) blah blah why don't kids these dares understand how important voting is, the lil bastards?"

So I wrote back a letter saying I found him condesending and suggested that perhaps it wasn't the duty of older voters to get the youth vote out at the polls, and was instead a failing of our current political climate in which youth aren't reguarded as an important voting block. For example, the incumbent party's main promise: universal childcare. Which, hey, great, but at 22 and childless? Don't care. And you can't get a straight answer out of a politician about university funding. So, I suggested politicians and political commentators alike treat youth with some respect and pay attention to their issues and we (youth) will at least become interested in voting, as opposed to dismissing it out of hand because we can't see how it might have any effect on us.

And believe it or not, the letter was longer than that. Hee.

Oh, sweetpea. That sucks. Stats is (are?) the devil. If it helps, I'm actually doing worse after studying.

Good for you! It's a very similar thing over here. That demographic doesn't vote hardly at all, and the things that the candidates campaign about (health care, tax credits, social security) don't apply to th "kid." In the mean time, they have to pick up another part-time job because their financial aid for school keeps declining.

*shakes head*
