So. Alias.
So.
Might as well get this over with: SQUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEE!
Ahem. So. I've heard that Mrs. Vaughn is evil. Not that you'd ever know, what with the secretive phone alls and the rooting through of desks and the vaugely menacing expressions when no one was looking. Bwha!
It was sorta like the Francinator all over again. Sort of. I think I was sitting there, two inches from the screen scrutinizing (Oy with the spelling!) Melissa George's every expression, looking for the face fall, the raised eyebrow, the ridiculous amounts of eye makeup, you know, classic Alias signs you are EVIL but pretending to be GOOD. I love JJ, I do, I'd marry him and have his babies if that pesky wife of his wasn't in the way; however, how about some gray?
We get it. Syd, good (at the most merely pretending to be bad in order to do good. And btw, in retrospect, Simon's comments to Jack about Sydulia's uhm, enthusiasm in bed makes a lot of sense after seeing that Michael "You fucker" Vaughn moved on after nine months. But I digress) Vaughn good (or investigating the bad guys so it maybe makes him look bad.) Sloane, Omnifam (which, techincally seems to mean "all famine.") aside, is Eeeeeevil, with a capital E.
But Jack? Irina? Sark? (Hey, a girl can hope, no?) The characters fandom loves loves loves? All about the gray. Alllllll about just doing what's necessary for the end game, whatever that may be. They've done away with the binary. THAT, Mr Abrams, is cool. That's what allows the twists.
Don't do the "she's in love with him so she comes clean" twist. But keep her conflicted. Make her like Syd, and Marshall, and whoever she needs to. And please, with the stone faced angry double crosser expressions? To a minimum.
ETA: Hey! What if . . . . Vaughn knows the wifey (can you tell I can't remember her name? Lauren! That's it) knows Lauren is Covenant? It'd make the last, 'run straight into the arms of my wife' thing seems, well, better. And Makes some of the Vaughn/Jack interactions make a little more sense. And they can't tell Syd, cause she's Syd and would over react or do the panic face like she did with the francinator and the coffee ice cream, no?
Or not.
On another note, I have a hole in my slippers. My big toe keeps getting caught in it. Hee!
