The problem I'm having with BSG fic is everything I think to write has already been written, and better than I could have done.

I'm very dissatisfied with pretty much everything I've written lately. I'm bored with a lot of the SG1 stuff I've left hanging (and I'm not convinced anyone is still reading SG1 anyway) and I haven't seen enough of BSG to have any sort of feel for the characters yet.

I forget that when I stumbled into the Stargate fandom there were six years of canon to educate me and to help me get a feel for the characters. It was okay to have not seen everything, because after six years a lot of stuff was extraneous and TPTB had forgotten about it themselves. BSG has what, 16 hours total? and I keep feeling like it's critical to know it all before I can write anything.

And hell, SG fandom has been very, very nice to me and I am intimidating myself out of writing anything for any show period. Ugh. I hate when I get like this.

Hmmmm, it's hard getting into writing for a new show but I'm sure you can do it. *snuggles* Don't underestimate your writing skills, you kick ass, hon.

Me! Me! Me!

So go write :)= Don't leave 'em hanging. It's not polite. *cackles*

I am! And I'm getting desperate.

Huh. I've really gotten the impression that everyone had moved on. Nice to see that's not true.

I still read SG1 fic. Of course, I'm highly selective about it. I only read Telkena if I want to kill brain cells and feel crappy about how many people love her.

*flops* And I want more ellyfic. *looks pitiful*

Also, er, SG1 is very hard to write new things for because everything has been done before.

See, I find SG1 less difficult that BSG. I think BSG offeres a limited number of potential plots because there's so little to explore because it's only been around for a bit. And, I feel BSG has attracted better writers, so I'm less willing to rewrite plot scenarios because most of the obvious ones have already been done, and done well.

And Telkena? *facepalms* I *heart* SG1 fandom. We're all kooks.

Totally still reading SG1. Espeically Elly!SG1.:)

And I do know what you mean about trying to come into a new fandom. It's always...unsettling. Very hard to dive into new characters with the same confidence as those you've lived and breathed for years. But I know I would happily read any BSG fic you produced, and I'm quite certain I would not be disappointed.:)

But don't worry about writing something that's "already been done". Everyone brings their own unique voice to every fic, and the plot is sometimes the least significant part of a story. Believe in your own voice and the merits that brings the work.

(But you totally have to finish those SG1 fics, too!*g*)

Well thank you!

I'm just chock full of insecurities period, so I need to get over them all. And I will finish most of the SG1 stuff, I think.

*ellyfic* is wonderful! I'll read it, always. And what little new stuff I can find, I'm still reading SG1. I'll help chip in on apt. furniture. I have a really nice couch that needs a home.

Couch? Cool.

And thank you. It means a lot to know people are still interested. :)
