I'll bet money the non-Canadians on the flists are tired of hearing about the Canadian election. But we had one. And it changed nothing. And it made traffic terrible on the way home from work.
We are cranky. Forgive us.
In more Canadian news, Thanksgiving hooray! I brined a turkey for the first time ever using this recipe from epicurious/Ted Allen and it was good. It's called 'Deconstructed Turkey' - how very po-mo of me, I know ;) I would highly recommend it in terms of being able to control exactly how much turkey you end up with. Also, the gravy is delicious.
( Pictures! (Er, raw turkey under the cut. Be safe and wash your hands after viewing!) )
Also went to a dinner and took this cranberry/almond salad which was very good. I added crasins to the salad mix and a little bit of sugar to the dressing because it was quite tart, but overall it was a hit.
And now for my next trick, to make a turkey sandwich.
