So I'm home for the holidays, but I'm also still working. HOWEVER, it was extremely slow at the office today so I spent most of the day reading Yuletide. Normally I don't brave the list myself, so it was an interesting experience. There are fandoms out there I've never heard of. Huh.
So. Recs:
Bones: Punch Drunk Love
Angela/Hodgins. I've seen 2.5 episodes of Bones, and I think I know who Hodgins is, but it will be awkward if I am wrong. Anyways, this is terribly sweet and sexy.
MacDonald Hall/Bruno and Boots books: Girls are the Eleventh Plague
Bruno/Boots. I read every single one of these books as a kid. I loved this story because while it's great on it's own, I kept reading and going "oh my god! Elmer Drimsdale! Sidney Rampulsky!
This also contains the fabulous line "I care about as much about purple bras as I do the gross national product! Everyone on earth can tell I'm totally gay for you. Why do you think I keep asking you to be my roommate every year?"
I think this is hilarious as well as awkward and sweet and frustrating.
King Arthur: Ante Bellum
Arthur/Lancelot. I just liked it. A fandom I never read in, despite that I own the movie and have seen it a lot.
A Knight's Tale: Nature Boys
Chaucer/Wat. It's surprisingly sweet. Words and things that aren't said along with some fonging.
The Princess Bride: Crumpled Pieces of Paper Found in the Wastebasket of Count Rugen
Unrequited Count Rugen/Prince Humperdinck. This made me giggle so hard I almost choked. Epistolary stories don't always work for me; this one does.
Battlestar Galactica RPF: Rose and Thistle
Jamie/Tricia, Jamie/Tahmoh, Tricia/Tahmoh with a little repressed Jamie/Katee thrown in for good measure. Hell, I'm just going to label this one Jamie/Anything with a pulse.
I love this story for this line alone:
""You don't need a shrink," Tahmoh says [to Jamie], "you need to stop sleeping around."
Awesome.
